Child Development Centers, Inc. established the Children’s Foundation of CDC, Inc. in 2007, which is devoted to enhancing programs and services for our children and their families.
This foundation is aimed at meeting the childcare needs of working families that attend Child Development Centers, Inc.
Our children are the future of our community. It is important to invest in our children to make the future look brighter for everyone.
According to Pennsylvania Department of Education, in order for Pennsylvania to compete, our children need to succeed. A high quality of life for all Pennsylvanians means that our children need to become skilled employees that can retain a good job, buy a home and pay taxes.
The key to success for Pennsylvania is quality early education. Quality early learning opportunities help our children enter school ready to learn and prepared to achieve. But this window of opportunity is brief. By age 5, 90% of our brain is developed. If a child enters kindergarten behind, they will most likely stay behind.
The support we serve is young and to whom we must appeal is essentially small town and rural. It is growing older. It is bearing the burden of our area’s economic reversals. There is, however, a great amount of cohesiveness and community compassion.
Because Child Development Centers, Inc. relies primarily on income sources which prove to be inconsistent at best, it is important that the Endowment be fully funded at the earliest possible date. For the sake of maintaining programs that have proven so beneficial to children and our community, we must provide a stable financial base for our unreimbursed service program. We have made a beginning.
