Responsible for educational requirements of the classroom according to PA EC & Academic Standards through the use of Creative Curriculum and Work Sampling. Creates developmental appropriate classroom plans to meet children’s group and individual needs throughout the entire day, 6AM – 6PM. Utilize time management skills such as using children’s nap time for lesson/classroom planning time. Responsible for classroom environment and site appearance. Assess the educational and developmental level of children, flag developmental concerns and ensure appropriate follow-up. Assist other staff in process. Create classroom environments based on NAEYC observational tool, ECERS, ITERS, & SACERS. Ongoing parent-teacher communication, complete parent-teacher conferences, assist with meetings and ensure quarterly family events. Create an emotionally responsive, caring, positive and accepting environment supportive of the individual development of each child.
Requires a Bachelors Degree in Education, preferably Early Childhood Education and 2 years experience working directly with children.

Assist teachers in planning and preparing for daily activities. Implement plans as directed. Assist in maintaining equipment, supplies and a generally tidy classroom appearance. Create an emotionally responsive, caring, positive and accepting environment supportive of the individual development of each child. Supervise and interact with children in activity areas, inside and outside, using developmentally appropriate language and supervision techniques. Assist in custodial and kitchen duties.
Develop an annual training plan with supervisory support, attend and make use of appropriate training, reporting back to staff and completing the appropriate paperwork.
Requires High School Diploma or GED, plus 2 years experience working directly with children.
