Rooted in community

Starting in 1969 CDC was grown from a small community-based program in Franklin—where local “Day Care Mothers” offered care in their homes—into one of the region’s largest and most respected early childhood education providers.

Today, we’re proud to provide nurturing care and exceptional education to more than 2,000 children—ranging from 6 months old through 6th grade—at 19 locations throughout Crawford, Erie and Venango Counties!

Safety First

From hands-on learning at the Carnegie Science Center to wild encounters at the Pittsburgh Zoo, Waldameer Park fun, and cheering on the Erie SeaWolves, our field trips are packed with discovery and joy. We also love exploring local gems right in our own backyard.

To help keep everyone safe and easy to spot, each child receives a bright, logoed CDC shirt as part of tuition. These shirts feature our phone number and help staff quickly identify our group during outings. Please make sure your child wears their CDC shirt for every field trip—including swim days. Most trips take place on Thursdays unless otherwise noted.

Field Trip Checklist

  • All campers receive a water bottle to ensure students remain hydrated. Please make sure this returns with them.

Swimming Checklist

Growing young minds since 1969!

Since 1969, when we began as a small, community-based program in Franklin, Pennsylvania—with local “Day Care Mothers” providing care in their homes—we’ve grown into one of the region’s most trusted early childhood education providers.

Today, we’re proud to nurture more than 2,000 children, from 6 months old through 6th grade, across 19 locations in Crawford, Erie and Venango Counties. Each day in our care is filled with purpose as we spark curiosity, encourage empathy and create joyful spaces where children grow with confidence and care.

Why Early Education?

At Child Development Centers, we believe that prosperous futures begin with an exceptional learning experience. With 90% of brain development happening before kindergarten, we approach every moment with purpose—creating experiences that spark curiosity, support healthy growth and nurture empathy and a lifelong love of learning. We proudly offer caring, high-quality education for children ages 6 months through 6th grade.

More than Daycare.

All of our centers are nationally accredited by NAEYC and have earned a Keystone STARS Level 4 rating—an achievement held by fewer than 3% of Pennsylvania’s licensed programs. That means your child will experience the highest standards in safety, education and care—done with heart and purpose!
